Applying to universities

Applying to universities can prove to be a strenuous and puzzling time for many students. At IOANID International High School we support our students to apply to a multitude of university destinations.  We aim to help guide our students to make the best choices wherever in the world that might be.

We do this through;

  • Offering an exciting Internship programme
  • Regular CEO talks to explore new domains
  • Presentations from university admissions officers.

This exposure allows students to consider careers they might never have thought of before and/or to test the reality of working in the domain they are aiming to work in.

Each university application is unique. The application process differs depending on the country students decide to apply to. The UK has a centralised system which makes the entire process more easily accessible to students. Universities elsewhere have their own admissions process and entry requirements.  (We work in partnership with some agencies in Bucharest who can offer a discount fee) Furthermore, we support students with this process as far as possible.  In most cases universities require a school reference as well as the students’ own motivation letter, but all choices need to be made by the student and their family.  We encourage students to attend open days to get a good feel for a university that they are interested in applying to.

Typically we support by providing the following:

  • Offering information on the documents required by universities
  • Support with personal statements
  • Provision of school transcripts

Some students are clear what career they wish to pursue, others have very little idea and most change their mind somewhere along the road.  By exposure to the world of work and finding good university options, students are well equipped to make the most of the opportunities that come their way.
